How I teach
Everyone has different learning styles. I learn by doing and that is what I teach. If you are learning to use
a digital camera you need to learn how to download your images, so I teach you that and you do that
while I'm teaching you. It's the best form of learning in my opinion as it gives you a level of confidence to
try it for yourself, outside of the classroom.

I have created my own teaching syllabus and corresponding handouts and can fit any of this to your
needs.

If you have a digital camera the first skill is learning how to use it. If you are learning Adobe Photoshop
you need to learn resolution (resizing) and basic photo editing. Most students want to be able to print
pictures and send these pictures to family and friends. That's what you will learn how to do. My Web
class is designed as a starting point for you to have and design your own Web site. You need to know all
of the elements that go into a successful Web site-from researching to writing, to owning a domain, to
finding a Web host to inserting meta tags. If you want to sell on eBay I will teach you how to make
informed decisions on what to sell on eBay, how to write a good description, and take good pictures.

Professional background
I have taught students for over ten years how to use many different computer based programs including
Microsoft Office, Adobe PhotoShop (CS2 and Elements), photo restoration, scanning techniques, the
Internet, Internet job searching, and Web design. I also teach how to sell on eBay, desktop publishing,
digital camera and basic computer.

I have worked as a graphic designer and as managing editor for National Defense Magazine and have
written and edited articles for publication, press releases, and taken photos for magazine publication,
and Army public affairs.

I was an eBay PowerSeller for over one year.

I am published in National Defense Magazine, Logistician Magazine, the Herald Post, the Stars and
Stripes, and Army public affairs publications. I also have written and designed newsletters, logo,
brochures, marketing material, Web sites, a magazine, static displays, and training material.

As a photographer I have taken photographs to accompany articles and for marketing material. I also
worked on a marketing campaign to bring more money for a U.S. Army Materiel Command-Europe
renovation project. I took weekly renovation pictures that identified a critical need for renovation money,
which U.S. Army Materiel Command-Europe was awarded.
