Can you see the computer monitor?
I have students who strain to see the computer monitor. Make learning and using the computer
that much easier for yourself. If you have eye glasses you should wear them. Computers cause
eye strain and if you can't see the monitor it is that much harder to use. Consider getting your
eyes checked and a new pair of glasses if you cannot see the screen even while wearing your
glasses.
If you can afford it get a 19 or 21 inch monitor, they are much easier to see.
If you are not familiar with a mouse I recommend having someone load a computer game for you.
Learn how to play the game-it will help you learn how to use a mouse.
If you do not know how, I recommend learning to type before you seriously start taking computer
classes. A very good program is Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. You can get this at CompUSA or
Best Buy. Being able to type can be less stressful for you when you are learning about computers.
Not being able to type and not knowing how to use a computer can be not that much fun.

Do you know how to copy and paste?
A very useful skill is knowing how to copy
and paste. As simple as it looks not a lot
of people use it or understand it.
I use it to copy and paste words inside a
Microsoft Word document. I use it to copy
and paste a file from my hard drive to my
thumbdrive.
This skill could make using the computer
a lot easier for you.
