Computer skills
Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Excel and PowerPoint, digital file folder management, job skills, and basic
computer skills.
Learn to use your computer starting with the on switch, use a thumb drive, back up your files using external storage
devices such as a CD-ROM, DVD, and external hard drives. Use an external hard drive instead of your c: drive and
maintain all of your files in an organized system. Learn to create cool PowerPoint presentations.
Digital camera and Photo Editing
Digital photography, point-and-shoot digital and digital SLR cameras, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Photoshop
Lightroom, CS3, scanning techniques and resolution requirements, photo restoration and enhancement.
Learn to create a video of your photos using Adobe PhotoShop Elements to share with family and friends or put on the
Internet. Create a professional bound book of your photographs and learn how to plan your book before you create it
online. Archive your digital images correctly. Resize your digital images and preserve image quality. Scan your own
photographs and slides correctly the first time. Edit great photographs and make them even better. Digitally edit
photographs for business marketing or publication such as houses, cars, jewelry, digitally enhance photographs of
people. Print better prints from your inkjet printer and pack a complete digital camera bag for a trip.
Website
Learn Website creation using available online software including Yahoo! Site builder, Homestead, Tripod and blogging.
Classes start with the basics. You don't need to know HTML to have a good functional Website. Learn what you need to
know to hire someone to create a Website for you or create one yourself. Learn how to acquire your own domain and
how to research Web hosts to determine the right one for you. Understand the other half of Website creation that isn't
commonly taught--how to research metatags using free online guides. Find out what you need to do with your Website
to improve your rankings on popular search engines.
Learn to create a cool Web site without using HTML, create and maintain a free or paid online Web site. Find the
domain name you want and learn how to buy it. Resize your images for the Web, write good metatags (words search
engines use to find your Web site) and place these metatags into your Website.
